Hilton Head Island, S.C., November 4, 2011 – The Ella C. White Memorial Scholarship Fund held its annual fundraising dinner on Friday, November 4th at the Crowne Plaza Resort on Hilton Head Island. The event’s theme was aptly named “Making A Difference,” and attendees of the dinner assembled to help raise money to provide local graduating seniors at Hilton Head Island High School and Bluffton High School with college scholarships. The event began with a reception and dinner, culminating with a rousing speech by the evening’s keynote speaker. As a part of Hargray’s commitment to making a difference in the Lowcountry community, Hargray sponsored this year’s keynote speaker, M. Christopher Brown, the 18th president of the Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi.
