Hilton Head company launches new social media initiative on Facebook and Twitter
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – February 1, 2010, marked the beginning of a new era at Hargray, the era of social media. The Lowcountry’s leading communications company launched a social media initiative on Facebook and Twitter. In order to better connect with customers around the region, Hargray now feeds both Facebook and Twitter with a wide range of content that is useful, educational and highlights important events and causes in the Lowcountry. Followers can also learn about industry trends that may affect them and get previews of new Hargray products.
This is Hargray’s first foray into the social media world. Director of Marketing for Hargray, Eddie Andrews, said, “incorporating social media as a communications strategy frankly allows us to reach our customers where they spend a great deal of time, on-line.” Andrews continued, “this is a really exciting time for Hargray, we are having fun on Facebook and Twitter, and we hope to expand into other social media outlets in the future. It is an immediate way to talk to our customers and the entire community.”
Recent feeds on Hargray’s Facebook and Twitter pages have included posts and “tweets” about the Heritage Golf Tournament, information on new interactive media technology, and articles on research focusing on cell phone usage. Most important, Hargray has been engaging customers in conversations about the community.
